I’m Nicole. Photographer, mum & lover of the little things.
Based in country Victoria, Australia.
I grew up in country Victoria, the eldest of three, and have always been happiest surrounded by family. I first picked up a camera when I was young, but it was in high school, helping out at weddings, that I really fell in love with photography.
I’m a mum of two. Motherhood has changed the way I photograph more than anything else. It’s made me notice just how quickly the little stages come and go — the tiny hands, the noise, the laughs, the chaos and all the ordinary bits in between.
THE LIFE BEHIND THE LENS
These days most of my time is spent with my two girls, Hennie and Bobbi, and my partner, Brent. I love the slower, ordinary parts of life — being outside, travelling with the caravan, family dinners, weekends at home and the kind of days that don’t necessarily look particularly special until you look back on them.
And while I love the slower paced life, I still love getting dressed up and having a good party every now and again.
Photography has always been a way of paying attention for me. I’m drawn to the in-between moments, the imperfect ones and the things that happen when nobody is really thinking about the camera.
HOW I PHOTOGRAPH
I’m not interested in making your family fit into a version of what a photo session is supposed to look like.
I want you to be able to relax, move around, cuddle your baby, let the kids be loud and let things unfold naturally.
Whether we’re at home, outside or in my studio, I’ll guide you when you need it and step back when you don’t.
